A small quick spark, flickered; yet it ignited a dark part of me that had for long not seen light,
For in the absence of light it had not seen, at all.
Seeing now slowly, unsure of every passing moment, hazy, confused, and motionless, I lay.
The light travelled through me, growing stronger with every beat, louder, more violent and sure.
I had no choice but to let it captivate me, caress me and own everything I was.
Soaring now high above all I knew to be safe and reliable,
I found solace in the light’s sweet embrace.
Bathing in her rays I felt warm, covered and protected.
Solitude felt like old company,
Hunger and thirst satiated by her smile.
There, in her arms, I lay – fulfilled.
With passing time and in her relentless passionate light, things previously hazy became ever so clear and apparent.
She never pointed me in a direction or even shared an opinion,
She just lay with me, silently speaking a thousand words.
Those quiet conversations brought me to realize a truth I’d cherish forever:
Light isn’t really light without darkness; nor is darkness dark without light.
While I believed myself enlightened by her; she found herself in me.
